Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Fatal Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, Nigerian authorities announced on late Wednesday. The fighter was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on December 29th, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
Joshua had been under observation while recovering from minor injuries, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The victims of the crash were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two close friends.”
His release from the hospital comes as the global fight fans shared sympathy for the star in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
