The Opening Game Pass Additions of 2026 Demonstrate Xbox Is Still Fighting.
Everywhere you go, enthusiasts continue to ring the death bells for the green team. Xbox was recently outsold by a relatively obscure console. Dedicated Xbox communities began covering about PlayStation as a new development. The past year represented complete chaos for Xbox and Microsoft. But if we're going solely off what's coming to Game Pass in 2026, it is apparent that Xbox continues to plan to draw people in with strong games on its key platform.
The Immediate Additions
The duo of games you can play right now at this moment, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, are not the headliners. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass in the coming weeks that's truly noteworthy.
Upcoming Headline Games
On Jan. 13, the platform will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, a sprawling adventure that breaks up typical Ubisoft design with a space-faring criminal escapade. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, hailed in past assessments as "the perfect cocktail of horror and action."
Intriguing Niche Additions
Yet, the less-hyped additions set to join the catalog are noteworthy here. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike that is incredibly fun, arrives January 7th — and it's worth experiencing whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.
This UK-developed survival title from last year may draw you in in about 15 minutes flat.
Atomfall, the stealth survival game by the developers behind Sniper Elite, is also a game to check out. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to look forward to.
A Robust Selection of Games
In summary, this isn't a revolutionary update to Game Pass, nor are they tentpole Microsoft studios games that validate the subscription by themselves. However, this batch of games are rock solid. It offers a healthy blend of old games you might have missed and new-ish games that lacked the recognition they warranted upon launch — transforming them into excellent choices to find a new audience on Game Pass.
Be prepared to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, as it happens.
