The top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka has been voted the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second straight year.

The 27-year-old secured four titles – the most on tour – which included retaining the US Open in September versus Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth career Grand Slam singles triumph.

A Season of Consistency

Throughout the year, Sabalenka reached a circuit-leading nine finals, with losses coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.

The Belarusian also claimed victory at the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open in May. She spent the whole season as the world number one, ending 2025 on top of the rankings for a second straight year.

This past summer, she achieved the status of being the first player to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams in 2015.

Historic Statistics

Sabalenka ended the season with a sixty-three to twelve win-loss record, and picked up a historic £11m in prize money.

She earned nearly eighty percent of the votes submitted by international tennis media.

Later this month, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match with the aim of "raise women's tennis to a greater prominence".

Other WTA Award Honorees

• Comeback Player of the Year: Switzerland's Belinda Bencic, 28, received the award after taking 13-month break after the arrival of her first child and making her comeback to the sport earlier this season.
• Newcomer of the Year: Canadian teenager Victoria Mboko received the award after starting the season ranked beyond the world's top 300 and climbing to world number 18.
• Partnership of the Year: Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend earned the title after securing their second career Grand Slam title as a pair.
• Most Improved Player of the Year: Amanda Anisimova received the accolade after reaching five championship matches.

Recently, Carlos Alcaraz took home three honours in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Awards, which included the season-ending top rank award, while Jannik Sinner was chosen as the fan favorite for a third time.
