Iranian Forces State Assault on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Military Operations.
Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed missile attacks across the region in response for a large-scale and continuing offensive targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area close to the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any impact is uncertain and the United States has remained silent.
Airspace Engagements
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - reported they have intercepted missiles in their air space.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was striking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That preceding assault - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on locations linked to the Iranian leadership, with President Trump encouraging the people of Iran to revolt against the leadership.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military said it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE said in a statement that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems dealt with the projectiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a series of missiles," the statement continued.
The statement noted wreckage landed in a residential area in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some property damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
