Barcelona Set to Play Historic Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday

Barcelona have announced their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit Athletic Bilbao in La Liga over two years after they moved out so building work could begin.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited with 45,401 fans will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. When completed, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, a rise from the old capacity. Officials confirmed completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barça organized a public practice on the home pitch earlier this month. The club said they are seeking authorization from European football’s governing body to play their next home Champions League game facing Eintracht next month at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held in the temporary ground.
